The Institut national d'histoire de l'art offers financial support to established art historians who intend to conduct research in France in 2021. This support takes the form of expense reimbursements, up to 600 euros for trips between April to December 2021.

Requirements

Applicants must have completed a PhD in art history and be actively engaged in art history research at a professional level (lecturers, curators), regardless of nationality.

Applications will be evaluated according to the quality of the presentation of the research topic, the justification for a trip to France and finally the degree of preparation for this trip (identification of resources or sources to be consulted and a correctly assessed budget).

Application

The application package must include:

  • a cover letter addressed to the Directrice des études et de la recherche de l'INHA. This letter will detail the research project, the reasons for the research in France (specifying which institutions and collections/archives will be consulted), the location, the duration and the period of stay in France;
  • a curriculum vitae;
  • a provisional budget.

Applications must be submitted online HERE before February 18th, 2021.

Only applications submitted online will be considered.
